#3054 Pure and Monarch Map Expansion

Pure and Monarch are now expanded to a radius 35,000.  Pure was previously 10,800 and Monarch was 12,000.  Enjoy the new block generation for 1.8.

If anyone wants to do this in a team, I'm game. I'll list some pros and cons here so you can decide if our weaknesses and strengths compliment each other so that we may form an efficient and well balanced team. 


- Poor grasp of the English language.
- Poor attention span
- Somewhat poor memory
- Really poor attention span because it's Magic The Gathering spoiler season where they show new cards
- May ban you if I get frustrated
- Drawn to the wrong conclusion quickly and will defend those conclusions to the death.
- Despite claiming otherwise: never left ACME, ever. Except for the tunnel that connects to ACME. So poor grasp of where things are at on the map
- The contest host and creator called me a jerkhouse in this topic. Scroll up it's right there
- May or may not backstab you to claim all the prizes after doing zero work
- Somewhat poor memory

- Can fly
- Can ban competitors
- Can burglarise anything



- If Tarq reads that stuff above this section then I'm in trouble

Only the horse of Mikill9 survived the 3rd Horse Race.


The race ended with a chaotic party at the winner podium. Racing members had let out the frustration on their lost horse at the Hippodrom of Astoria. But everyone was in good spirits and the racing organization hopes that all had fun

The server is now upgraded to 1.8.  This should resolve a lot of stability issues we have been having. I will also be expanding the map on Pure and Monarch soon.

You must have come across an unsupervised child, that is probably being raised by the youtube celebrities and minecraft chat.

So, I have been thinking about setting up a scavenger/treasure hunt on the Pure server. This competition will be open to all and it will involve the deciphering of clues, the finding of things, the going to places, and the shaking your head at the inanity of any puns, portmanteaus or spoonerisms I will inflict on you during said competition.


That's right. COMPOOTISHUN. Here are the basics I have come up so far:


  • The competition will start at sometime in the near future at a certain point when the first clue will be announced LIVE in game. There will probably be cake.
  • You can enter the game with a PARTNER or go SOLO. Duos will share the prize.
  • There will be ten CLUES and ten PUZZLES/TASKS in ten LOCATIONS. Each clue will lead you to the next loaction. Each puzzle/task will give you one number in an X,Y,Z cooridinate. When you have all ten coordinate numbers, you will have the location of the TREASURE. Run, god damn it!
  • The locations will be in popular areas on the Pure server. The locations/whereabouts will be unknown to anyone but myself.


Now, as for prizes, I'm not sure what you guys would want or what I have to give. I was thinking of a sweepstakes, where every participant pays to enter and the winner takes all. This will also be supplemented with a bunch of stuff that I can think of. If this is an unpopular idea I'll have to think of more stuff.

Hey guys/gals.. so i was bored when i work up this morning so i decided to show off a little bit with my uber computer and HD MC Graphics/sounds/shader's XD so i did a small ish display of fireworks on a creative single player map real quick

As a lot of you know, yesterday some kids griefed our server and did it in an admittedly clever way, a lot of spawn was covered in water, lava and a lot of blocks were destroyed at random.

Most of this avoided a part of our anti grief prevention.

However! I only had to ask in chat once for help, and everyone on the server wanted to help out!

So with some team effort (and a clever find on Jello's part) we cleaned up spawn in record time, fixing all lava and water.

This shows to me that we have a great community, something other servers could only wish for. With people like you we can get trough anything!

There's now a tiny monument near the spawn market that marks our quick cleanup and team effort  :D 

Some practical info in the form of an Q&A though:

Q: I still found a griefed block!
A: Try to fix it yourself it it's only minor / something easily fixed. There's still going to be a few missing blocks. If you can't fix it call in a moderator or admin to patch it up.

Q: building X is still simultaneously soaked and on fire, what do?
A: Besides the laws of common sense being broken here, the best option is to call one of the moderation crew, they can fix it up pretty quickly. 

Q: My chestshop signs are messed up, or my chests are locked and I can't acces them!
A: unfortunate side effect of this whole ordeal, Boot did try and lock up most chests for theft prevention though so just ask a moderator to remove the locks now in place. You'll have to re-do any shop signs that were broken though.

Q: Will this griefing stuff happen again?
A: Although I'd like to say no, something like this might happen again one day. After all, kids (and teens) are hormonal, moody, grumpy and burdened with a lot of spare time. We have so many great members that can fix this faster than it can be broken though, so there's that  :D

So, I play around with Photoshop sometimes when I'm bored. I used to use 3 different programs, but then my computer filed charges against me and my resources were cut in half because alimony while that trollop flaunts her circuits for anyone with an R9 series Radeon card... Anyways, Anyone could post in this thread. Any sort of artsy stuff you wanna show off and the like. Dont be shy; I'll let you paint me like one of your french girls. ;3

This article explains the mechanics behind the gold farm on pure, and some general mechanics associated with gold farming in minecraft.Hello fellow Minecraftians,

In this article I’d like to explain the mechanics surrounding the gold farm I build on the Pure and Monarch server.

First of all, how does one farm gold?
Well as some of you might know Zombie Pigman have a chance of dropping gold nuggets when they die. So it'll have to be some sort of zombie pigman farm.

But how do you get enough pigman together for the farm to be efficient?
You can build a “common” mob farm in the nether, so pigman will spawn naturally in it, the downside of this is the mob cap. (if there are too many mobs around, no new ones will spawn)
A more efficient way is building it in the overworld using nether portals. Every portal block (the purple field inside the obsidian frame) has a chance of spawning a Zombie Pigman. The portal blocks don’t check for the amount of mobs in the area. This allows a greater build up of Zombie Pigman and thus is more efficient.

What size should you use?
There are a few things to take into account when thinking about the size. Sure, more portal blocks means more Pigman will spawn. The problem is mobs stop moving if they are too far away from a player (with default settings this is 32 blocks).
A farm stretching 200x200 blocks wouldn’t be much faster than a farm stretching 64x64 blocks. Also take into account that large amount of portals will create lag, so don’t overdo it!
The gold farm i designed is 49x49 blocks. The hight should always be the max. portal hight (23 blocks including both obsidian blocks).
To minimize obsidian use, you can use portals size 23x23 only, i didn't do so to keep things symmetrical.

Where should you place the kill room?
The kill room should be very close to the bottom level of the portals. The reason for this is to get the most Pigman to move when you standing in the kill room.Second, Pigman get angry when you hit one of them, so you should make sure all angry Pigman run straight into the mob transportation system (explained later), so they don’t keep running around in the farm, but get killed asap instead. In my design, the kill room is in the center of all the portals, very close to the bottom of the portals.

How do you get the mobs from the portals to the kill room?
To get the Pigman to move out of the portals, place signs (or trap doors) allong the bottom blocks of the portals.

Underneath the portals is a water system, all spots have running water, and they all run into the center of the farm.
On every side of the kill room is an entrance where the Pigman enter the mob elevators. (basically a tunnel upwards with water and signs). On top of the elevators is a connection platform where all elevators are directed to the same block.
This block should be the start of their drop down (to kill drop them 23+ blocks, to damage drop them 21 blocks).

Pigman are dangerous creatures, especially if they have full health. So you must make sure no pigman can escape the farm, or you’ll be in a lot of trouble. That’s why you should first build the entire farm, double check if there is no way for the pigman to get out (including the baby pigman), before you light up all the portals!

About the design:
The design I’ve come up with has 72 nether portals, each one 9x23 blocks (including the obsidian border). Every portal has 7x21=147 portal blocks (the purple blocks in the middle) so in total there are 10584 portal blocks. I used 6 mob elevators (4 normal elevators and 2 baby elevators). Also a switch controls two options: damage mode (xp farm) and kill mode (afk farm).
The design has portals with 9x23 size because of the water mechanics, since water flows 8 blocks it makes the transportation system a lot easier. Finally the design also allows you to switch between afk and damage mode. The trick is to make the elevators just high enough so you can put the kill room at the bottom level of the portals.

If you like to see one in action, the gold farm on the Pure server is the easiest one to check out (since the Monarch farm is underground and protected by towny).

#4588 Monthly Server Events Start On The 28th!

Hey fellow Minecrafters! I'd like to officially announce the beginning of monthly server events! All events will take place on the last Saturday of the month at 2:00 PM EST, that's 11:00 AM PST and 7:00 PM GMT. This months event is going to be the first ever footrace on the Pure server. I'll be posting more details as soon as my damn internet gets fixed, this was via my phone. Clear your schedules for Saturday the 28th and keep an eye out for more details on exciting server wide events!

Dynmap will be fixable, but we are moving to a new (faster and cheaper) server shortly, so I am going to wait until that is complete.
